Professor of Computer Science and Director of the AI Lab at West Virginia University. He began his AI career at Carnegie-Mellon University’s Robotics Institute.
He founded the AI Lab at WVU, leading to successful startups acquired by Fortune 100 companies. His work spans AI, Medical Informatics, Telemedicine, and Distance Learning.
His research has been funded by major institutions including DARPA, NIH, and General Electric, totaling over $50 million.
